James Rebhorn was an American actor who played Frank Mathison (father of Carrie and Maggie) on Homeland. He had worked in many movies (Independence day, Meet the Parents, The International, etc) TV series (3rock, White Collar) and in theater. He died of melanoma on March 21, 2014. His character Frank was subsequently written out of the show.
