Imminent Risk is the seventh episode of Season 6 of Homeland. It aired on March 5, 2017.
Synopsis[]
Carrie deals with Child Services, who fear Franny is no longer safe with her. Saul Berenson infiltrates an Iranian agent into the country. Meanwhile, Astrid takes care of Peter Quinn in a remote place.

Quinn regains consciousness earlier than expected and wonders where he is. Astrid comes into his room, who asks her not to let him forget what Carrie said to him. When Astrid asks what exactly he means by that, Quinn falls asleep again due to the medication administered by the doctor. Meanwhile, Max sets up surveillance cameras and an alarm system for Carrie in her apartment. Although he's happy to help her, he thinks she should call the police. But Carrie doesn't want that. At that moment, she receives a call from Franny's school, informing her that a woman from child welfare spoke to Franny about the events of the past few days. Carrie immediately makes her way to the school, where Christine Lonas is already waiting for her. She thinks that Franny is traumatized, which is why she sent Franny to a children's home for the time being. Carrie is upset about the news and wants to see Franny right away, but Lonas doesn't think school is the best place to discuss this and invites her to her office.
Meanwhile, a demonstration is taking place at the airport as a delegation of Iranian ministers arrives in New York. Among them is Javadi, who entered the country under a false name.
Keane talks about her late son in a TV interview. After the events of September 11, 2001, he decided to become a soldier. She tells when she last saw him and that they didn't always agree. She also points out that not much has changed in recent years as many American soldiers are still dying. Dar is watching the interview live. He already knows about Javadi's arrival in New York, but believes that he will not dare to take the risk and meet with Saul. At the same time, however, he is already making plans for it. Before that, however, Rachel Crofts, a counterintelligence representative, wants to speak to him as she is tasked with finding out all about his visit to the West Bank. She also asks for Saul's smartphone for the research in order to be able to understand everything correctly. Saul is annoyed, but has no choice but to accept the questioning.
Carrie has arrived at Lonas office and tells her about the events before the so-called hostage situation. She also talks about Quinn. Carrie tries to defend him while Lonas is unequivocal of the opinion that Franny wasn't safe with him. She reveals to Carrie that Franny told her she was scared to death when she was alone with Quinn. Desperate, Carrie asks when she can see Franny again, to which Lonas explains that there will be a hearing the next day and the judge will then decide on Franny's custody.
At the lake house, Astrid finds out that Quinn has disappeared. She immediately goes in search of him and finally finds him on a road in the middle of the forest. He wants to go back to New York, but Astrid explains to him that he has to stay away from the public, otherwise he will end up in prison or a psychiatric institution. Quinn tries to get her to understand that someone is after him and that he needs to find out more about it. When a car comes by, Quinn stops it for a ride, but Astrid makes sure the driver doesn't pick him up.
Javadi is enjoying himself in the wellness area of his hotel when a man appointed by Dar comes and asks him to come along. Saul, meanwhile, is still being questioned about his stay in the West Bank. Dar finally interrupts the questioning and tells Rachel to leave. Saul accuses him of knowing about the questioning beforehand, but Dar says otherwise.
Carrie talks to Reda, whom she has hired as her attorney, about the upcoming trial. He tries to calm her down, since the authorities are just doing their job and Franny is certainly fine in her children's home.
Javadi is tied to a chair by his captors. Another Iranian named Naser comes up and chats with him about his visit to New York. Naser claims to have received information from someone in the CIA that Javadi is a traitor. He wants the names of all American agents working in Iran. When Javadi doesn't follow his instructions, he begins to painfully pull out his fingernails. At that moment a man arrives and shoots everyone except Javadi. He introduces himself as Amir Bastami and explains that he served in Iraq with Javadi and remembers him fondly.
The next day, Carrie faces family court. Lonas portrays Quinn as a danger to Franny, prompting Carrie and her attorney to clarify that he no longer lives at her home. Lonas then explains that in another conversation, Franny told her about seeing Carrie in her room in the middle of the night with a loaded gun in her hand. Carrie then tries to explain the situation, but the judge cannot understand why she didn't call the police when she felt she was in danger. Lonas then adds that Carrie suffers from bipolar disorder. All the facts lead her to the conclusion that Carrie poses a risk to her daughter. The attorney agrees and urges Carrie to undergo a psychiatric evaluation while Lonas gathers more information about the situation at home. Until then, Franny has to stay at the home. After the trial ends, Carrie begins to cry. When she comes home later, she grabs a bottle of wine.
Amir sits next to Saul at a hockey game and then takes him to Javadi. He angrily confronts Saul about who knew about his trip to New York, whereupon Saul mentions Dar. He then shows Saul a photo of the tortured Farhad Nafisi, who has worked for the Mossad for the past eight years. Saul wants to see the video in which Nafisi confesses this, but in return Javadi demands political asylum, permanent protection and access to his money. Saul can't give him what he wants, but he explains that maybe Keane can. Talking to her also gives Javadi the opportunity to assure her that Iran is not building nuclear weapons in North Korea. Javadi agrees to meeting her. He then kills Amir to avoid taking any chances.
Astrid has asked Dar for help, who travels to the lake house to seek the talk with Quinn. He's sure Quinn wants to go back to New York because of Carrie. So he reveals to him that Carrie had Quinn woken up while he was in a coma to find out if he had any information about the Berlin Central Station attack. Dar makes it clear to Quinn what kind of health risk Carrie has put him at. As a result, he also believes that Carrie has been caring for Quinn for the last few weeks out of pity rather than love.
After drinking the wine, Carrie calls Keane to ask for her help. She hopes Keane can use her contacts to get her custody of Franny back. Keane finds her request inappropriate and overhears Carrie having been drinking. She is upset that Keane is not willing to help her, even though she lost her son herself. Keane makes it clear she can't help her and then hangs up. At the same time, Lonas calls Dar to tell him that Franny is now in a nursing home. Dar, who initiated this initially, thanks her.

When Dar Adal met with Quinn at the lake house, he says Carrie ordered docs to wake him up from his coma -- patently true, since Saul too did -- despite the risk of a massive cerebral hemorrhage:
"You think she's been taking care of you all these months out of love? Sounds a lot more like guilt if you ask me," Dar tells Quinn.

She had a depressive episode though after frannie got taken away. Max called it “the black dog”. So, fun fact: “The black dog” was a phrase coined by Churchill when talking about his bipolar disorder.
