Francis "Frank" Mathison was the father of Carrie and Maggie Mathison, the latter of whom he lived with. He has bipolar disorder, for which he goes to therapy and takes medication. His younger daughter, Carrie, inherits his illness, but she doesn't attend therapy and receives medication from her sister.
Biography
During a visit, Frank made Carrie a sandwich-to-go while he ironed his pants. (Blind Spot)
He died in his sleep from a stroke in 2014.
Behind the Scenes
Frank was written out of the show due to the death of actor James Rebhorn, who died of melanoma in March 2014.
